Keith Urban Honored with Triple Crown Award at the 60th ACM Awards — Joined by Nicole Kidman for a Night to Remember

Congratulations to Keith Urban! On Thursday, March 8, the country superstar, 57, was presented with the prestigious Triple Crown Award at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards, held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The tribute began with a star-studded musical salute, celebrating Urban’s extraordinary career.

Megan Moroney kicked off the tribute with a heartfelt rendition of “Stupid Boy,” followed by Chris Stapleton’s soulful performance of “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” closing with a warm, “We love you, Keith.”

Throughout the performances, Urban radiated joy from the audience, singing along and dancing with his wife, Nicole Kidman, 57. The couple swayed lovingly during Stapleton’s set, with Kidman holding Urban close in a tender moment that melted the hearts of the crowd.

The tribute culminated with Brothers Osborne performing Urban’s 1999 hit “Where the Blacktop Ends.” Urban then joined them onstage, guitar in hand, jamming along before stepping up to the mic to accept his award.

Urban’s Emotional Speech

He began by thanking the performers for their heartfelt tribute and the Academy for the honor, then turned to his wife:

“My wife, Nicole Mary, is here tonight. I love you, babygirl. And our daughters Sunday and Faith, who are watching at home, I love you both, too.”

Known for his humility, Urban continued by expressing his gratitude for his team, acknowledging that success is never a solo endeavor:

“There’s no such thing as a self-made man. I want to thank my road band, my road family, and especially the fans who’ve been supporting us.”

He also gave a shoutout to country radio, Capitol Records, and his promotional team before teasing what’s next:

“We’ll see you soon,” he said, referencing his upcoming tour with Blake Shelton, which kicks off later this month.

A Milestone Moment in Urban’s Career

Urban received the Triple Crown Award for previously winning three of the ACM’s most prestigious titles: New Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. He joins an exclusive group of recipients, becoming the first to receive this honor since Carrie Underwood in 2010.

His past ACM wins include Top New Male Vocalist (2001), Male Vocalist of the Year (2005 and 2006), and Entertainer of the Year (2019).

What’s Next for Keith Urban

In addition to his tour, Urban is gearing up to headline a new music competition show called The Road, which will debut this fall on CBS. Co-executive produced by Blake Shelton, the show will showcase rising artists who’ll open for Urban on tour, with the audience helping decide which performers progress from city to city.

The Big Picture at the ACM Awards

While Urban’s tribute was a highlight, the evening was also filled with major wins and unforgettable performances. Ella Langley led the nominations with eight, followed by Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, and Cody Johnson, each with seven. Chris Stapleton received six nominations, while Riley Green and Post Malone earned five each.

Hosted by Reba McEntire, the 60th ACM Awards streamed live on Prime Video, offering fans a night of music, emotion, and unforgettable milestones.
