According to a source who spoke exclusively with PEOPLE, Miley Cyrus was unaware of any alleged “drama” involving her mother, Tish Cyrus, sister Noah Cyrus, and her mother’s new husband, Dominic Purcell.
“Miley had no idea about the drama with Dominic. No idea at all,” the 31-year-old singer of “Flowers” claims, following a source’s earlier this week disclosure that Noah, 24, and Purcell, 54, were dating before Purcell’s marriage to Tish, 56.
“She confronted her mom about it,” the insider says. “She thinks it’s a strange situation, but she loves her mom and wants her to be happy.”
When PEOPLE asked for comment on Sunday, Miley, Tish, Noah, and Purcell’s agents did not respond immediately.
Noah’s agent declined to comment on her alleged connection with Purcell.
The younger Cyrus sister “was offended” by her mother’s closeness with the Prison Break actress, a source told PEOPLE earlier this week.
According to the tipster, Noah and Purcell had hooked up and split up before the actor and Tish began their romance.
“Noah and Dominic were seeing each other in a ғʀɪᴇɴᴅs-ᴡɪᴛʜ-ʙᴇɴᴇғɪᴛs way, off and on. They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up,” the source said, adding that “Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.”
A source said, “Tish never gave Noah the chance to talk about all of this before they got married.”
Tish and Purcell married on August 19, 2023, in the garden of Miley, the maid of honor. Noah did not attend the event.
Noah announced her engagement to fashion designer Pinkus a few months earlier, in June 2023.

Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce from Tish in April 2022, after being married for over 28 years. Moreover, a year later, Tish and Purcell married.
The ex-couple has three daughters: Brandi, Miley, and Noah, in addition to boys Trace and Braison. In addition, Billy Ray is the father of Christopher Cody, 32, from a previous relationship.
An insider told PEOPLE separately this week that, while the divorce was “long overdue,” it was not “easy for any of the kids.”
